How to change your profile photo/image in Exchange 2013
Last Updated 9 months ago

In Exchange 2013, you can now change your own profile picture! This is the photo that other Exchange users see on email messages from you. You may already have a profile picture in Exchange, or there may be a generic placeholder in your account.

Please Note: This feature is available only to Exchange users whose mailboxes have been updated to Exchange 2013. You can tell if you've been updated by logging in to Outlook Web App, then checking the default color scheme (see below). If you see a blue theme, then you have been migrated and can use this feature. If not, don't worry — you will have this ability soon (sometime in 2016).

  1. Prepare your image file according to these recommendations:
    • Size: 120 x 120 pixels and no more than 40 kB
    • File type: JPEG
  2. Go to
  3. Log in with your AGC ID (the first part of your email address, before "") and password.
  4. Click on your name in the upper right corner. (If you see a yellow theme at this point instead of this blue one, it means your account hasn't yet been updated to Exchange 2013. Please check back in the future.)
  5. Click on the Change button below the image (or image placeholder).
  6. Click on the folder icon.
  7. Find photo you prepared (wherever you saved it) and select it.
  8. Click the Open button in the bottom right corner of the window.
  9. The window will close. Click the SAVE button above the new image you opened. This will update your profile picture. Note: It may take about a day for your picture to update throughout the system.
  10. When you are finished, sign out.
